Orleans Elementary School’s third through sixth graders once again showcased their artistic talents in the annual Symphony in Color contest, an enrichment program by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Association that blends music and visual arts.
Through this program, students create artwork inspired by a specific musical selection, joining over 30,000 participants from across Indiana.
Four outstanding student artists were selected to represent Orleans Elementary this year: Duke Dillard (3rd Grade), Haneen Alwayel (4th Grade), Adalyn Fletcher (5th Grade), and Norah Scroggins (6th Grade). Their submissions were sent to the Symphony in Color committee for review, and we are thrilled to announce that Duke Dillard and Haneen Alwayel were named Gold Ribbon Winners! Out of thousands of entries, only 100 students statewide earn this honor, making this achievement even more special.
As part of their recognition, Duke and Haneen’s artwork will be displayed at the Hilbert Circle Theatre in Indianapolis from February 15th - March 18th. Following this, their pieces will also be exhibited at the Indiana State Museum from March 22nd - April 27th, giving even more people the opportunity to admire their creativity.
We are incredibly proud of all our students for their hard work and artistic expression.
